Cold snowy first day of Spring and warm chocolate pie

Sometimes you just need a bit of comfort food. Food that warms your 'innerds. Food that causes your taste buds to spring alive. Something that will satisfy a craving you might be having.

And sometimes it is a raw, cold, rainy, snowy day and you find it hard to celebrate that it is the FIRST DAY OF SPRING! In the SOUTH!

Did someone not tell a "fixer" to fix us with a nice sunny warm day for this special day of the year? Guess not. Because what we got was.....

Yep! Cold. Rain. Snow. True it wasn't a lot. But really! It's SPRING!!!!

So I decided I needed that warm, sweet, comfort of a chocolate pie. Are you with me on this?
Pie is ready for baking

Fresh baked, hot from the oven!

Vera's Chocolate Pie Recipe

1/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa
2 1/2 Tablespoons flour (plain)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1/4 tsp Imitation Rum Favoring
1 tsp Vanilla Flavoring
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2/3 can of Carnation Evaporated Milk

Using a wire whisk, combine all dry ingredients thoroughly. Melt butter in microwave or on stove top. Stir into the dry mixture. Add liquid flavorings. Stir well. Whisk in the eggs blending thoroughly. Stir in the evaporated milk slowly blending well. Pour into prepared pie shell and bake 330 for 45 minutes or until knife-test or toothpick-test is clean.
