About: The 2022 high school football season is one of high hopes for Evangel Christian Academy. After going 0-9 in 2020 and not winning a game for the first time in history, Head Coach and Pastor Denny Duron is looking to bring the glory back to the storied football program. The team must stay unified and focused while battling adversity, on and off the field, in order to make a run at the state title. Six episode series.

My thoughts: This is an amazingly moving series that not only focuses on a losing football team's struggle to make a comeback and become winning players. It focuses mainly on life lessons for the team members and on shaping them into becoming strong men of God.

Teamwork. Overcoming personal struggles. Overcoming family struggles. Overcoming lack of team unity and becoming a strong united team. Overcoming weaknesses. Overcoming sickness and injury. Person and team issues to overcome.

Filmed professionally throughout the preseason and season to tell this story of a Christian school's football program and it's amazing comeback story.

I personally worked in Christian schools but we didn't have football teams. The liability and injury risk were just too great. But evidently Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, LA, made it work - in previous years and in this comeback season. A remarkable story.

Highschool boys meeting each morning for Bible study and prayer. Daily practice using grueling techniques. Coaches that push the boys to the limit yet are compassionate and caring. Putting God first in everything. Putting family second. And putting football third. God. Family. Football. A winning combination and plan.

It was inspiring to watch the series and gave me a thankful spirit that there are men and programs that are leading teens and growing men into becoming mature, God believing, and faith-living men of tomorrow.
