I have found the Valentia line of skincare products to be quality products that feel good on my skin, don't irritate the skin, help my makeup go on nicely, and help manage the affects of aging that we all seem to succumb to whether we want to or not. Today's product is the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. As many of you are aware, retinol is considered one of the best ingredients for skin tone and diminishing wrinkles, but using retinol is not without small risks. It is important that it be used at night only and that during the day you make certain you utilize a UV blocking screen SPF. That isn't hard as many day creams and makeup foundations include SPF for you.
I found the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum a surprising serum in that it has a thick, milky consistency that spreads beautifully and liberally all over my face and neck. Most serums are thin, clear, and quite watery. This was a nice surprise. It feels so soothing and smooth. I applied it in a rotating upward sweeping motion all over my face and neck making certain to avoid the eye area.
Having used it for just over a week, I think I am seeing a slight lightening of the few dark spots on the side of my face - help to even out skin tone. My imagination? Who knows? I know the reputation of retinol is strongly encouraging for help in this matter. There is virtually no scent and it feels nice.

Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer is in a pump bottle and a couple depressions emits an amount just about right for the face. If you chose to cover the neck and chest area, a bit more will be needed. It goes on smooth and absorbs readily. It leaves the skin feeling very good. The softening and moisturizing effect is lasting throughout the day.
I applied it twice daily for a week and have enjoyed using it. I anticipate that it will aid in lightening the darker spots that have appeared on the side of my face. Nevertheless, the moisturizing qualities are very good.
There is virtually no scent which is good for those who can't tolerate fragrances. It is absolutely non-irritating to the skin (at least to me) and doesn't sting at all as some lotions and moisturizers tend to do.

I like using products that are kind to the environment, kind to my skin, and cruelty free. Oz Naturals is such a brand.
The Oz Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser contains organic Rose Hip Oil and Vitamin E. With these ingredients listed as major for the product, I would assume it to be somewhat moisturizing. I found the product to effectively cleanse my face. It lathers nicely in my hands and on my face when water is applied as well.
I found I had to be especially careful around the eye area as it does sting my eyes. This is not unusual with face cleansing products or soaps, but I had hoped for a face cleanser I could liberally scrub all over my face to effectively remove makeup from facial planes as well as eye socket area. Of course, we know we must keep our eyes closed when cleaning the eye socket area.
I found it a little drying to my skin, but as we age we have less natural oils so that may be the main problem. I think I need a more moisturizing product. This could be a good product for younger skin.

Review: I've lived with pain, particularly back pain, for years and have taken a variety of over-the-counter and prescription medicines to achieve relief. Sometimes it is really hard to get that relief.
My usual method of dealing with pain is to try topical methods before consuming pills. This usually works for mild pain or discomfort. Then I progress to low dosage OTC pills. Readers of Chat With Vera will recognize the name "Adovia" from previous product reviews. It has been a pleasure each time I've been granted the opportunity to review an Adovia product. Today we're looking at the Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub that not only exfoliates but gives deep hydration of your freshly exfoliated skin.
I recognize that everyone is different and each person's skin and personal needs are different so it is not likely that a product line will always provide products equally agreeable to each and every person.
First let's look at the really positive aspects of this Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub. It has a really pleasant fragrance. One that appeals to my senses and causes a pleasant experience.
Next, the dead sea salts are packed with minerals that aid in the care of my skin and the texture of the salts exfoliates very well. Then the hydration aspect is silky and lasting.
I first used this as a hand and arm scrub to exfoliate and hydrate. I liked this so much I then tried it a couple of days later in my bath. It certainly exfoliates well and the oils also provide a silky film that seems to last and last.
Now let's look at the aspects that did not appeal to me (and this is, of course, my opinion and observations).
The package is sealed with a film that the user tears or cuts off. In doing so, some of the pool of oils splashes out and this can be a bit messy. Also, the oils and salts are somewhat separated with the oil floating on the top. So you have to dig and stir with your fingers to get the product out in a fairly good mix. Once I had secured my product, I used it. It certainly feels good.
I noticed that my bath was very slippery so I had to exercise care to prevent a fall. This would be true with any oil soaks, but I had not expected such slippery conditions from a salt scrub. Due care will be necessary at any age but for the senior population, I would not recommend the use of this product in bath or shower.
I can certainly recommend it for other uses, though. as it is a very pleasant product. Just use care and small amounts. The product may be acquired here.

I know a lot of folks use specific oils or combinations of oils to cleanse and moisturize their face skin. I've not found that workable for me in the past. However, I've now been introduced to Trilane® Retinol + Vitamin C moisturizer and found it to be an encouragingly effective and workable product for me to use on my face.
This is a very liquid, clear product that dispenses from a pump bottle. It contains a variety of oils along with retinol and vitamin C. It only takes a tiny amount and goes on very smoothly.
After cleaning my face, I apply the Trilane rubbing it into the skin with upward rotating strokes. After it absorbs (mostly), I apply my makeup for the day. Foundation goes on beautifully atop the Trilane. However, if I'm staying home and going without makeup for the day, I have found that the Trilane gives a smooth and glowing look to my skin.

Sometimes, sleep just won't come. Who knows why? I certainly can't find any rhyme or reason for those occasions when sleeplessness overtakes me. I've tried over-the-counter meds and they just are not for me because they leave me with a bad feeling or fuzzy head the next morning. That is not good! The first couple of nights I used the Maxasorb™ Melatonin Cream, I awoke during the night in the midst of weird dreams. Scary stuff. But I continued using it for a couple of weeks and have not been bothered for these odd dreams since. This may have been a coincidence or it may have been a temporary side effect. I think that I'm doing pretty good right now with my sleep patterns and the melatonin cream may actually be a part of my experience. It is worth a try and I'll continue using it.

This is the second item from Oz Naturauls™ that I have had the opportunity to try and share with my readers here at Chat With Vera. I have tried several hyaluroic acid serums and most have been very appealing and pleasant to use. I love, absolutely love, products that give me that edge against the ravages of aging. No one wants to look older, though it is inevitable, because we all age. However, taking care of our skin with products to slow the process is really beneficial in actually slowing down the appearance of aged skin.

When presented with an opportunity to review Vita Sciences Maxasorb Vitamin B12 Cream, I was delighted! I take a daily multivitamin which does, of course, have many of the B vitamins. But I also realize that as a lady-of-a-certain-age it might really benefit me to try additional Vitamin B12. What an ideal opportunity!
I realize that the results of any vitamin consumption on one's overall health only takes place after a sufficient period of time. There is no overnight success! I've been using the Maxasorb B12 Cream for a week now - daily. I apply two pumps to my inner arms, specifically in the wrist area. I scrub both arms together (not using my hands to apply as some would get rinsed off later) to allow the cream to penetrate the skin. It goes on very well. Not greasy. Doesn't seem to rub off on clothing.
I have confidence that this can only be beneficial. It is great not to have "another pill" to swallow. Applying the cream to the skin only takes moments. I am looking forward to using the entire 30-day supply that is contained in this bottle.
