Away in a Manger illustrated by Jean Claude from Kregel Children's Books [Review & Giveaway USA]

ISBN: 9780825447662
Price: $15.99
My thoughts:  This old, beloved Christmas carol is illustrated with dark scenes that capture the night when stars shone brightly and the Christ child was born. The words of the classic hymn-carol, "Away In a Manger," flow across the pages as illustrator Jean Claude deftly recreates the Biblical narrative drawing the young child's attention and bringing him delight.

Not too cutesy nor truly realistic, there is joy and delight in the scenes. And as the sweet song ends, a blessing is invoked for "all the dear children in Thy tender care."

Truly a classic every child should learn. A treasure.
