My thoughts: The Sado lantern is such a great product. Designed for outdoor use - think - hiking, camping, overnights, fishing, boy scouts, girl scouts, outdoors men. But it is so much more.

The light has three levels of white light in soft, medium, and bright. It can be a "beam" or it can be a "lamp." Then there is an emergency light in red. This, too, has three levels of brightness. And finally it has an "orange" or mosquito repelling light. Here in my home state of  North Carolina we have mosquitoes that range from tiny and pesky to tiny and dreadful. So that mosquito repellent light is a real plus. You can use it at home in the house in case some got in through an open door or if you want to sit outdoors in the cool of the evening, you can deflect some mosquitoes with this repellent lantern.

A special plus of this lantern is the SOS feature. For anyone venturing out in the woods, seaside, ocean, lakes, mountains whether with someone or alone, they NEED the ability to project a distress signal. This SOS lantern feature does just that. To activate the SOS you simply use two quick taps of the on/off button.

The lithium battery can be recharged using a USB cable to connect to your recharging unit just like you would recharge your phone or other devices.

This lantern can be used as a flashlight though one with a smaller diameter would be handier. This is designed primarily as one that can be hung from a rope or branch to light an area or stood on end. It has a "hook" on the bottom that unfastens so you can clip it to the outside of a backpack or whatever.

I think it is designed really well and has sturdy construction. I am quite pleased with this Sado Tech Rechargeable LED Camping Lantern.

Lighting the outside darkness: Internova Yeti 800 Monster LED Camping and Emergency Lantern - Massive Brightness with Tri-Strip Light Available

Before even opening the package, I was intrigued.  “Yeti” was emblazoned on the side of the box. Many things have been associated with the mythical beast, who are primarily known for their toughness and legendary status.  This lamp is no exception.

 As the name suggests this “Monster” lantern puts out an enormous amount of light.  To this date, I have not experienced its equal in area illumination.  The ability to light up a campsite or fishing spot makes it the perfect tool for any outdoor enthusiast, especially ones who will be spending long nights away from civilization.

Although made from plastic, the lamp seems sturdy enough, especially with the rubber seals and bumpers for maximum toughness and water resistance.  I greatly anticipate further use of this lamp in the field.

Lighting the outside darkness: Headlamp by Internova - Star Rider XL LED Camping and Emergency Flashlight with Adjustable Headband - Dual Colored Light with Adjustable Head

Right out of the package, the headlamp looks extremely sturdy.  Unlike most of its competitors, it is not loose and fragile.

On the first setting (brightest white LED) it lights up the area around it as if it were daylight.  For those with an adventurous spirit, this will be the perfect guiding light through a dark moonless forest.

The red light LED option, however was the only downfall.  I typically use lamps with a red light setting to help preserve my night vision, especially when hunting.  While the red light is useful in being able to be spotted by others, especially in the red light SOS mode, it lacks in brightness to be used as a path-lighting alternative for preserving one's night vision.

All in all, this headlamp still “outshines” the competition and is worth every penny spent.

It folds down to be tucked away in a pocket or backpack or safely stored away at home for those times when you need to have some light. My little video is very poorly done, but it is an attempt to show you how the light changes from normal glow to brighter glow and then to strobe/emergency light. (video might not work with Chrome browser)

I truly love this product. The light is truly intense and bright. There are two levels of light brightness and then a third lever that works as a strobe or emergency flasher. And you can use it as a flashlight to direct the light where you need it or it can be opened up to form a lantern that lights up the darkness very well. Truly a gem!

In a darkened room and with a flash on the camera, the lantern's
glow is still apparent in this picture though it does not fully capture
the brightness of this light.

But the goodness of this neat little lantern doesn't end with it's light abilities. You can charge it with the sun - solar energy. Or you can charge it with the USB port cable included. In fact, if you're out 'n about and your phone battery goes dead on you, you can use the charge of the lantern to charge your phone with the cable. So neat! I am so glad to have the opportunity review this product and can truly recommend it.
