Author Trudi Trueit is a gifted storyteller for middle-grade audiences. She has written more than 100 books for young readers, both fiction and nonfiction, including The Sister Solution, Stealing Popular and the Secrets of a Lab Rat series. Trueit lives in Everett, Washington. Interior illustrator Scott Plumbe is an award-winning illustrator, designer and fine artist whose work has appeared in books, magazines, games, interpretive centers and more. When not traveling the world, he lives in Vancouver, Canada. 

Cover illustrator Antonio Javier Caparo is an illustrator, graphic designer and graphic novel artist whose work regularly appears in magazines and books in the U.S., Europe and South America. Born in Cuba, Caparo currently lives in Montreal, Canada.

    1. We take walks to the local park and around.
    2. Enrolled in sports.
    3. Take in local museums, community events, etc. as much as possible.

  4. My daughter and I loved checking out old ‘ghost towns’, abandoned settlements in our county and those surrounding. We would wonder about the town that once was and why it didn’t last.
    Even though school wasn’t in session during the summer months, my daughters Girl Scout troop still got together. We had a wonderful troop leader who had awesome outings for the girls to go on. We made so many great memories from those days.
    Every year we took a family vacation and let our daughter help in the planning of it.
