Gluten Free baking products from "Our House" division of House of Autry [Review & Giveaway]

In our house, we don’t have anyone that has to watch the gluten in their diet. However, my daughter and her daughter do. So when I was given the opportunity to review the “Our House” brand of gluten free products, I was delighted. I reviewed another brand of gluten free products sometime back, and while they worked fine, they were not especially appealing to me. I received the “Our House” brownie mix, all purpose baking mix, and cookie mix.

I first prepared the brownies – well, who doesn’t love chocolate. I was simply amazed at how moist and delicious these were. I don’t think most folks would be able to tell the difference between these and “regular” brownies. You can take these to a potluck and be sure to see the plate picked clean.

“Our House” has also thoughtfully provided a little “tag” that you can clip from the side of the box that says “ Gluten Free” and place next to your dish at a potluck, party, or family dinner.

Next, I wanted to experiment with the all purpose baking mix. Since it is “everything pumpkin” season and since we have had an on-going love affair with pumpkin bread, that is what I thought I’d prepare. Well, there was a dearth of recipes online, so I conjured up (that’s an October seasonal term) my own. It didn’t turn out as expected, but I think I know how to fix it next time. I’m saving the cookie mix and letting my daughter try that one. Maybe for when her girl comes to town for a visit. Won’t that be fun.
