It's Spring . . .

I realize that the calendar declared Spring to have begun 20 days ago, but the trees denied that Spring had "sprung."

Today, I drove a country road or so and saw wondrous visions that Spring has truly arrive.

First, I saw that a green haze – somewhat like a mist or fog, but not wet – was draped over everything. Everything seemed muted through this green haze.

Next, I noticed that the woods were filled with large trees lavishly sprayed with a green fringe. This is a lovely “Spring green” or light green. Not the deep hue of summer. What a beautiful site to behold the unfurling of leaves on God’s majestic trees.

And then I noticed that the woods were abounding in naturally occurring Red Bud and Dogwood Trees. Folks have graciously planted lots of these in their yards as well and this is a beautiful site to behold.

All-in-all, my ride along the highways of North Carolina was restful, pleasant, and joyful.

How was your ride today?

  1. Your scenery sounds so beautiful. Things are still a little drab here in western NY, but I expect the greening of the grass & trees to start soon.

I love spring. I like seeing all of the changes in the grass, flowers, trees and bushes. The smells are amazing too!

  3. The way you describe Spring during your drive was excellent. On February 26, 2015, you posted a great photo with a snow scene (which was very pretty) and then reading your description of Spring, is refreshing.

  4. I am within walking distance to work, but after work iin the early evening I took slow walk and truly enjoyed God's gift of spring - leaves gently blowing in the breeze, the beginning buds of our dogwood tree, the green grass growing more quickly, the deer who still have their dark skins yet. God's world is truly beautiful and I gave thanks to Him also for the gift of my legs that enabled me to take this beautiful contemplative walk. I would so love this contest. I love Dial soap too! Hoping....
