Great Christmas Gifting Opportunity..... Captain No Beard Series of 4 Books and a $50 Toys-R-Us Gift Card Giveaway

Author Carole P. Roman has provided the opportunity for one of Chat With Vera's readers to be blessed by receiving all 4 of the Captain No Beard children's books AND a Toys-R-Us $50 giftcard.  I previously reviewed each of the Captain No Beard books and found them delightful, educational along the lines of character traits, colorful, and fun. Take a look at each of my reviews:
  1. Strangers On The High Seas
  2. Stuck In The Doldrums
  3. Pepper Parrot's Problem with Patience
  4. Captain No Beard (book 1 in series)
Each of these books is a delight and so cute. Children love the "pirates" and love to "shiver me timbers" and "Ahoy, mateys."

Why not read my reviews and also go to Amazon.com and read other rave reviews for Carole P. Roman's Captain No Beard books.  But for right now, just use the entry form below and see if perhaps you might be the one to be blessed with a set of books and a gift card that will help tremendously for your upcoming holiday spending.

  2. My daughter is pirate "fan". Has been for 2-3 years now and she's only 4. Just yesterday, we had to play pirates. I'm the bad pirate and she's the pirate princess. Such an imagination.

  20. I never played pirates when I was a kid. I feel like that became much more popular after the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. My younger students do enjoy it now but I have to warn them to be careful with some of the playing they do because fake swords count as weapons and aren't allowed.

  26. Yes, I remember playing pirates back in the 50s. We would turn the wooden lawn chairs upside down and they would be our pirate boats. My brothers always captured me and my boat.

  34. I remember that when I was a kid my sister and I would play pirates. Our bunk beds were the ship and if you ended up off the bed, you were in the sea where the monsters or sharks would get you. I (being the oldest) was always the captain and my sister was always the much abused first mate.

  45. I've been in love with pirates my whole life- Ive gone as a pirate of one sort or another for almost every Halloween haha- and loved playing a pirate as a child. Pirates of the Caribbean could be on the TV all day and Id be a happy girl (and not only because of Johnny Depp lol) Now that I have two boys they have inherited the swashbuckling love...one of our favorite games is "Treasure Hunt" where I hide a treat or a surprise in the house, draw up a treasure map and we set off on a pirate adventure to find the burried treasure :)
